Childcare Information

At Quality Kidz Daycare we:

  • Provide a familiar setting in a home environment, which helps children develop a sense of belonging and trust more readily.
  • Monitor and ensure children are eating appropriately and have enough food during their busy day.
  • Provide safe settings – children’s health and safety is a top priority – children learn to sit when eating, wash their hands before handling food and after toileting, etc.
  • Ensure dangerously high noise levels do not affect children’s hearing and behaviour – our environment is never too loud!
  • Encourage children to learn to take responsibility for their own belongings.
  • Provide an environment where children learn to interact in a mixed age, small group through regular playgroups, toddler times, music and movement sessions etc.
  • Provide an environment where children learn important social skills about being a leader, a planner and a team member.
  • Provide lots of opportunities for children to learn to concentrate and increase their attention span, make choices and decisions relating to play and learning activities.

As a Parent I can expect to:

  • Be encouraged to participate in planning an individual programme for my child focusing, on their strengths and interests – ensuring we achieve common goals – Programmes are based on the Early childhood curriculum Te Whaariki.
  • Be kept well informed through regular email reports and photos, and portfolio books (written observations, art work, photos) of my child’s learning. My child will love to share these with family members every month.
  • Not have as many illnesses due to smaller numbers.
  • Have the staff get to know my children, myself and my family – the family unit is important to us.
  • Be provided with a High Quality Early Childhood Education service.
